1991 (c) Entertainment On-Line, Inc. "The Daily Number Buster!"
"WE WANT YOU TO BE A WINNER!"
"THE DAILY NUMBER BUSTER!" is a Copyrighted product of
ENTERTAINMENT ON-LINE, INC., P.O. BOX 553, Westboro, Ma.
01581. EOL, Inc. is soley responsible for distribution of this and
other quality software and audio entertainment products.
Entertainment On-Line, Inc. is a registered trademark with the U.S.
Patent and Copyright Office, Washington, D.C.
GETTING STARTED
"The DAILY NUMBER BUSTER!" is designed for use on any IBM
or IBM Compatible computer (MS-DOS operating system) with 256K
minimum system storage. A color monitor and printer are
recommended, however, you can operate "The DAILY NUMBER
BUSTER!" without these features. Whether you have a single disk
drive, dual disk drive, or hard disk, you will be able to run this
program.
Turn your computer on. If you have a single or dual drive system,
make sure your system operating disk is in the "A" drive. You are
ready to begin when the "A>" system prompt is present on your
screen. If you have a hard disk system with the system operating
files installed, make sure that the system prompt has been changed
from "C>" to "A>". You can do this by typing: A: at the "C>" prompt
and pressing <ENTER> (or,<RETURN>, if you prefer, these are the
same key).
STARTING THE PROGRAM
SINGLE DRIVE or DUAL DRIVE SYSTEM
Once you have turned on your computer and have the "A>" prompt
on your screen, remove the system DOS disk and insert the " DAILY
NUMBER BUSTER!" in drive "A". To begin the program, type
RUNDNB and press <ENTER>. The BUSTER program should, after
a brief pause, begin on your screen.
HARD DISK PROGRAM INSTALLATION
If your computer includes a hard disk, you may want to install "The
DAILY NUMBER BUSTER!" onto it. In fact, hard disk installation
will speed program processing, especially if you are planning to
maintain a daily number drawing data base with over 200 entries. If
you want to install the BUSTER on your hard disk, insert the
BUSTER program disk into your "A" drive. At the "A>"system
prompt, type: INSTALLH C: and press <ENTER>. It will take a
couple of minutes to install all of the program files onto your hard
disk. When installation is complete, type: BUSTER to begin
execution of the BUSTER program. "The Daily Number Buster!"
program files will be stored in a sub-directory called "BUSTER".
Select Daily Number Database
Congratulations! When you have gotten this far, you are almost ready
to begin using the BUSTER program in earnest! To perform its
functions the BUSTER needs a database of past winning dates and
numbers to work with. Version 2.0 comes complete with a few
demonstration databases so you can put the program through its
paces. The Database Selection module on the Setup Sub-Menu has
three functions: Select the Database you wish to use, Create a New
Database, and Delete a Database you no longer wish to have. When
Database Selection is chosen, a screen displays a listing of all the
database files found in the current directory. If you wish to change
the file directory simply press the <Tab> key to change to the path
name field and enter a new path name. The Buster will then check
this new path location for databases. To select a database, simply
highlight your choice and press the <Enter> key. To create a new
database, press the <Tab> key until the <ADD DATABASE> button
is highlighted and then press <Enter>.
Lottery Information Screen
Both Selecting a Database and choosing to create a new one will
bring you to a screen containing general information about the
database. If it is a new one, the BUSTER will prompt you to answer
a few questions about the database. The most critical of these
questions is the type of game. Your choices are 3, 4, or D. These
stand for Pick-3, Pick-4, and Deal Games. Answering this one
question correctly is imperative to making the system work properly.
If you do not know what a Deal Game is then read the section called
Daily Deal Games. The system will save this information for future
use (you will never have to enter it again). Now that you have that all
entered you have the option of saying <OK> I wish to use this
database or <DELETE> this database. Use this last choice with
great caution. If you do not have a backup and you delete a
database... IT IS GONE! Once the database you wish to use has been
selected by choosing <OK>, you will be able to use the other
functions of the system.
A WORD About BUSTER FILE NAMES
All databases names MUST have the extension, ".EOB". When you
create a new database the BUSTER will automatically attach this
extension to the end of the name you give. Do not try to add it
yourself. When you enter the setup information about your database,
the system will create a setup file with the same name as the
database, but with the extension, ".EOC". Other file name extensions
are ".CYB" for Saved Bet Files and ".RPT" for analysis sent to file.
The MAIN MENU Bar
The Daily Number Buster features a pulldown Main Menu bar which
is the starting point for a BUSTER program functions. This menu is
intelligent, in that it will prevent you from selecting functions which
are unavailable at that time (i.e. You cannot analyze a database until
you have selected one).
The WINNERS Sub-Menu
The WINNERS CIRCLE is where you maintain and store all past
winning daily number dates and drawings. You can ADD,
CHANGE, DELETE, VIEW, AND PRINT drawing dates and
numbers in this section. If this is the first time using the BUSTER
program, you will want to start here after creating a new database.
WE REQUIRE THAT AT LEAST 10 DRAWING DATES AND
NUMBERS BE ENTERED BEFORE PROCEEDING TO OTHER
BUSTER PROGRAM FUNCTIONS. The BUSTER program will
come to life with each new daily number drawing date and numbers
added to the lottery database.
The ANALYZE Sub-Menu
The ANALYZE section provides you with all the tools you need to
decide which numbers to play! This module of the BUSTER allows
you to generate six different types of analysis, all of which can be sent
to the screen, your printer, or to a file. An information section on
ODDS is also available on this Sub-Menu. At least 10 past winning
daily number dates and numbers are required to use this Sub-Menu.
The BETS Sub-Menu
The PLACE YOUR BETS section brings you a variety of straight bet
systems for your Pick-3 or Pick-4 daily games, a boxed number
system generator, and five number selection methods. Additionally,
these bets can be saved, and later checked against the winning
numbers using Check Your Bets. At least 10 past winning daily
number dates and numbers are required to use this Sub-Menu.
The SETUP Sub-Menu
The SETUP Sub-Menu is where you will begin every session with the
BUSTER. Here you will select the database that you wish to use.
This section gives you the ability to add new databases and delete old
ones. You can also switch Color and Sound off.
The EXIT Sub-Menu
When its time to say Good-bye this is the place to do it. You have the
option of leaving for good or temporarily exiting to DOS. When you
select the Exit to DOS option, simply type "EXIT" and press
<ENTER> to return to the BUSTER program.
Adding WINNING DATES and NUMBERS
To add past winning daily number dates and numbers, select Add
Winning Numbers from the Winners Sub-Menu. The Add Screen
will appear showing you the last date entered and the numbers drawn
for that date. Note that the cursor is blinking in the first character
space of the DATE field. The BUSTER is waiting for you to enter
the drawing date as MM/DD/YY. If you decide that you dont wish
to be here, you can press the <Esc> key at any time and the system
will return to the Main Menu Screen. When entering the date it is
important to remember a couple of things. First, you must add
leading zeros. For example, if you wanted to enter January 5, 1991
then you would type 01 05 91. Note how the system automatically
skips over the "/" marks. Once you have entered the date, the
BUSTER will test to see if the date is valid. For instance, if you enter
13 05 91 (there is no month '13'), you will receive an error message
and have to reenter the date. The BUSTER will also check if the
entered date already exists in your database. Once your date has
passed all of these tests, the cursor will move down to allow you to
enter the numbers that were drawn. As you enter them, one by one,
the system will check the numbers validity (0-9 are appropriate for
the Pick-3 and Pick-4 games, if you are playing a Daily Deal game
please see the section called DAILY DEAL GAMES). Once you
have completed this entry, the BUSTER will post it at the right side
of the screen and bring you back to the date field for another entry.
When you are done entering your past drawings press the <Esc> key
and all completed entries will be sorted and saved. While this
process may seem relatively simple, and, in fact, it is a simple process
to enter winning dates and numbers, the BUSTER is checking the
accuracy of every entry you make! As time goes on and you add
more dates and numbers, the value of these "behind the scenes"
functions will become increasingly more important to you!
Viewing WINNING DATES and NUMBERS
To take a look at your Daily Numbers Database, select View Winning
Numbers from the Winners Sub-Menu. This function brings up a
screen of your entire database, sorted in date order. In the lower right
hand corner, the BUSTER gives you summarized information about
the past dates and numbers you have entered and the game you are
playing. In the upper right hand corner you will see the keys that you
can use to move through the listed dates and numbers or to exit this
screen. In the actual viewing box you can move up and down using
the up and down arrows or the Page Up and Page Down keys. <P>
will print out a hard copy of your database and <Esc> will return you
to the Main Menu.
Editing WINNING DATES and NUMBERS
To make changes to your Daily Numbers Database, select Edit
Winning Numbers from the Winners Sub-Menu. This function will
bring up the Edit screen which operates in a similar fashion to the
View Winning Numbers screen described above. There are a few
notable exceptions. In the Edit screen you can move left and right
from the date to each of the winning numbers. Once you get to an
item that you wish to change, simply press the <Enter> key and the
system will allow your entry of the corrected value. This works while
changing either a date or one of the winning numbers. The BUSTER
then performs the same validity checks described in the section Add
WINNING DATES and NUMBERS. You also have the ability to
delete an entire date by pressing <Ctrl>-D with the cursor located
under the date you wish to delete. Notice how the line disappears and
the other lines move upwards to fill its space. Notice also how the
number of entries will decrease by 1. When you are done making
changes you then have two options to return to the Main Menu by
pressing either the <Esc> or <End> keys. If you have made a
mistake and deleted or changed entries accidentally, the <Esc> key
will restore your daily number database to its original state before you
entered Edit WINNING DATES and NUMBERS and return you to
the Main Menu screen. If, on the other hand, you wish to keep the
changes that you made, press <End> and the database will be saved
and the re-sorted.
The ANALYZE Sub-Menu
The ANALYZE Sub-Menu provides you with a variety of ways to
examine the numbers in your Daily Numbers Database. Each of
these methods may be shown on your screen, sent to your printer, or
written to a text file. When you choose to send your analysis to a file,
the BUSTER will assign it a file name which will be displayed on the
screen. This text file may then be viewed in any Ascii text editor or
word processor. Each of these methods examine your database in a
different way and we suggest that you look at each of them and then
decide for yourself which daily numbers to play. Each method of
analysis will now be described.
Total Hits Chart
The Total Hits Chart gives you, in graph form, a HIT
FREQUENCY of every number you choose from, WITHOUT regard
for which position the number hit in. You can see from a glance
which numbers have been hitting as HOT (well above the average hit
rate for ALL numbers), DUE (well below the average hit rate for
ALL numbers), or AVERAGE (right at or about the average for ALL
numbers). By pressing <A>, you can toggle on/off the Average Line
to display the cumulative average of all the numbers selected.
Positional Hits Chart
The Positional Hits Chart operates in a similar manner to the Total
Hits Chart but its results are completely different. In a Daily game
each number is drawn from a different machine and a different set of
balls. Consequentially, the number 3, for instance, may be HOT in
the first position and seldom show up in any of the other positions.
This chart gives you, in graph form, the HIT FREQUENCY of every
number you can choose, by position. It is therefore clear to see how
EACH number is performing in EACH position. An Average Line is
also available on this chart to display the cumulative average of all
numbers selected.
Hit-by-Position Chart
The BUSTER provides much more than a simple hit frequency of all
the daily number database numbers. The Hits-by-Position Chart
actually compiles the drawn numbers total by position. Each
number position and total is filled with the hit frequency for that
position. Then, based on the average and standard deviation results
of ALL the numbers drawn, the BUSTER assigns ratings of HOT,
DUE and AVERAGE for each number total by position. Numbers
rated AVERAGE are within one standard deviation of the overall
cummulative average for all the recorded numbers. This feature
represents the suggested method for selecting numbers as put forth by
the daily number betting experts (also known as Bell Curve
analysis). The BUSTER compiles all of these results and presents the
drawn numbers in chart form after making 1000s of statistical
comparisons. Those numbers designated as 'HOT' have appeared in
that position greater than one standard deviation above the
cumulative frequency of all the drawn numbers and, conversly, a
number designated as 'DUE' has appeared less than one standard
deviation below the cummulative frequency of all numbers drawn.
Following Last Chart
The Following Last Chart is probably the most complicated chart to
understand, but it is also one of the most beneficial to understand.
This illustrates in graph format, by position, the numbers which
traditionally follow the winning numbers selected in the LAST drawing
in your database. To illustrate lets try an example. Last nights drawing
was: 8 3 1 9 and you are trying to decide what to play for tonights drawing.
This chart will search your past drawings database and everytime it
sees that the number 8 has hit in the 1st position, it will
track what winning number hit in the 1st position for the VERY next
previously saved drawing. The system does this for each position and
then provides the results in the form of a bar chart. Say that the 1st
Bar for the number 2 is much higher than the 1st Bars for the other
numbers. This means that if an 8 shows up in the 1st position in a
drawing then the 2 shows up in the 1st position in the next drawing
more often than any other number. Since the 8 did show up in the
1st position during the last drawing, the number 2 in the 1st position
would be a good number to play.
Search Ticket Chart
This method provides you with an opportunity to analyze a particular
group of numbers. When this chart is selected the system will
prompt you to enter a ticket combination you wish to analyze. An
example might be 1 1 8 5 for a Pick-4 game. The BUSTER will then
show you how many times those numbers and subsets of those
numbers have come in different orders and combinations throughout
your database of previously saved drawings. This also provides you
with the Last Date of each occurrence. The printed and file output
versions of this chart will also display all dates that the
combination of numbers have occurred.
Non-Performing Tickets Report
A Non-Performing ticket is one which has never hit in exact order.
According to your past drawings database, this ticket has NEVER
won. Because there are so many combinations of numbers which
have never been drawn, this report is generally very large. Especially
for Pick-4 games, this report can sometimes approach 30 pages of
ticket combinations which have never won. Be sure to have lots of
paper and time before running this report, but, remember that you
can press the <Esc> key at any time to return to the Main Menu.
NOTE: There is no screen version of this report. If you choose to
send it to the screen, the BUSTER will use the Search Ticket Chart to
tell you if a particular ticket has ever won or not.
Odds and Ends Chart
The Odds and Ends Chart is a special section designed to
provide information on betting ODDS to help you select a winning
combination to play. A betting system based on knowledge of the
odds for winning can only help you become a better player. You can
view the ODDS chart on your screen or send the output to your
printer. There are different ODDS charts for Daily Deal and Pick-3
or Pick-4 games. Some of the odds will surprise you... Did you realize
that capturing 4 numbers in 2 positions has better odds than simply
playing a single number in a single position? While different bets are
allowed in different state games, you will find the best bet to play
from the information on the ODDS and ENDS Chart.
A NOTE About AVERAGE and STANDARD DEVIATION
ANALYSES of DAILY NUMBERS
Most of us are pretty clear on the meaning of AVERAGE in
terms of the number of hits for each daily number drawn, over time.
We simply look at the total number of hits for ALL drawn numbers
and then divide that number by the total numbers we choose from.
The AVERAGE can then be used to compare the actual hit rate of
any individual number, by position, against the average expected hit
rate for all the drawn numbers. This concept is simple enough,
however, we can further analyze an individual number by
determining which numbers fall outside of one standard deviation
from the average, either above or below the average hit rated for all
drawn numbers. While it is not important that you understand
the mechanics of statistical analysis (the BUSTER does this work for
you), you should know that statistics is the area of mathematics
concerned with the manipulation of numerical information. Daily
number hit rate data is analyzed in a series of parameters such as the
standard deviation and the mean (average) of the daily number hit
rate distribution. The distribution developed by the BUSTER creates
a frequency of hit rates for each individual daily number, in total and
by hit position. The BUSTER has devised a mathematical
distribution based on one standard deviation from the average (this is
commonly known as Bell Curve Analysis). Individual hit position
numbers which fall below or above this deviation are classified as
either DUE or HOT performing numbers.
A WORD About HOT, DUE, and AVERAGE NUMBERS
Based on the Laws of Probability, a daily number drawn MANY,
MANY times SHOULD appear an average number of times relative
to all the other daily numbers to choose from. Like flipping a "fair"
coin, after many, many flips the coin should appear HEADS UP and
TAILS UP 50% of the time each. The probability of a coin landing
HEADS UP on any one flip is 50% because there are only two
possible outcomes. With daily numbers, the possibility of any one
number being drawn in any particular position is equal to 1 out of the
total numbers to choose from. Or in a Pick-4 game where you select
from a group of 10 (0 through 9), the odds for any individual number
to appear in the first drawn number position is 1 out of 10. The odds
for any individual number to be the second number dr awn is still 1 to
10 because (unlike a lotto type game), there are no number
eliminations. It is possible to have multiple occurrences of the same
number selected, such as 7788, etc. When we try to classify daily
numbers as HOT, DUE or AVERAGE, we are looking at the
historical performance of an individual number against the overall
average for all the numbers chosen from. If the overall HIT average
for our group of numbers is 10, then an individual number which has
appeared 9, 10 or 11 times could be classified as an AVERAGE
performer. An individual number classification as DUE is a
relatively easy concept to understand. If the overall average HIT rate
for all the numbers in a particular daily number grouping is 10, then
an individual number which has appeared only 2 or 3 times could be
classified as DUE because of our earlier discussion about probability.
Numbers over many, many drawings SHOULD appear an equal number of times,
so, a number that is well below the overall group average is DUE to come in
based on this theory. Many people think that a DUE number is DEAD
number! Not true, based on the Theory of Probability! Many other
people ONLY play DUE numbers because of this belief in Probability
Theory. Determining whether a number is HOT is easy on the one
hand but extremely subjective on the other. What we are saying is
this: If the overall average HIT rate for all the numbers in a particular
daily number game is 10, then an individual number which has
appeared 17 times or more is affectionately, classified as HOT. In
fact, based on the Laws of Probability, these numbers should STOP
HITTING so the other less hit numbers will start to flow closer to the
overall average of the entire group of numbers! This isnt to say that
many people dont play HOT numbers, just the opposite! These
players feel that the numbers are "influenced" in some way to hit
more often than DUE or AVERAGE numbers. We are not about to
begin arguing with anyones concept of how numbers hit! A true
sceptic would suggest there is a "RANDOM WALK" to how numbers
appear. This means that trends amount to nothing... each and every
drawing gives a single number an equal chance of hitting. Probably a
better way to classify a number as HOT is to view a DUE number
which is appearing more frequently or moving toward the average
more quickly than the other DUE numbers. We leave this decision to
you. We have designed the BUSTER trend charts so you can be of
either opinion about HOT numbers. The selection method used to
extract HOT numbers for placing bets follows the number "influence"
school of thought for those players who want to play the numbers
which have, simply, hit the most number of times.
Bets Sub-Menu
The Daily Number Buster provides you with a large number of
different betting methods. It contains 5 different ways of selecting
your numbers to bet and then offers you a variety of straight bets and
an unlimited number of boxed bets. There is something for
everyone!!! First we will examine the different methods for selecting
numbers.
NUMBER SELECTION METHOD #1: HOT Numbers Only
When you choose HOT NUMBERS as your daily number data base
selection method, the BUSTER will compile the HIT results of all
numbers and extract those numbers that have hit the most number of
times, by position or in total, depending on the type of bet. How
many numbers extracted will be relative to the total numbers to be
played in a straight bet or boxed (wheeled). In any event, the
extracted numbers will run from the MOST HIT to the next most HIT
in ascending order. In other words, if you decide to play the
STRAIGHT 4 numbers in exact order, the top 4 hitting numbers, by
position, will be extracted for this bet. If you
choose a 4 number box bet, the top 4 hitting numbers in total will be
extracted.
NUMBER SELECTION METHOD #2: DUE Numbers Only
When you choose DUE NUMBERS as your daily number data base
selection method, the BUSTER will compile the HIT results of all
numbers and extract those numbers that have hit the least number of
times, by position or in total, depending on the type of bet. How
many numbers extracted will be relative to the total numbers to be
played in a straight bet or boxed (wheeled). In any event, the
extracted numbers will run from the LEAST HIT to the next least
HIT in ascending order In other words, if you decide to play the
straight 4 numbers in exact order, the 4 least hitting numbers will be
extracted for this bet. If you choose a 4 number boxed system, the
least hitting numbers will be extracted.
NUMBER SELECTION METHOD #3: Select YOUR OWN
Numbers
Maybe you have the best number selection method of all. If you like
your method best when we dont want to stop you! Personal insight is
a very important influence for choosing numbers to play... We want
you to play your way. When you choose this number selection
method, be prepared to come up with numbers you want to play
straight or boxed (wheeled).
NUMBER SELECTION METHOD #4: Purely RANDOM
Selection
What can we say?? Some people really like the RANDOM selection
method best. In fact, it can be said the Random method most closely
resembles the daily number ball selection process. If this is your
number selection method of choice, we guarantee the process is 100%
random(as random as a computer can be...). Simply choose the game
you want to play either straight or boxed (wheeled) and the BUSTER
will randomly select the numbers for you.
NUMBER SELECTION METHOD #5: EOL Special
Combination
Sometime the best type of numbers to pick are a combination of
different types of numbers. If you subscribe to this belief then the
EOL Special Combination is for you. The EOL Special Combination
bet will select a group of HOT and DUE numbers for your bet.
A NOTE ABOUT "BOXING" SYSTEMS
Why use a "BOXING" system? Boxing systems simplify the betting
process, guarantee a cash prize when the numbers drawn appear in
your larger group of numbers boxed, and, with some systems,
maximize your payoffs through multiple ticket hits because you play
many combinations of the same numbers. It can HONESTLY be said
the "BOXING" reduces the odds against you! First, by playing
MORE numbers (more than the standard straight 3 or 4 bet), in a
group, you have a better chance of having the drawn numbers match
your boxed numbers. Second, simply by playing MORE tickets you
increase the odds of having a winning ticket. Probably the greatest
single benefit of "BOXING" is the payoff maximization which is
inherent in a many boxing systems. Because you are playing several
combinations of the SAME numbers, when the numbers boxed come
in you have a much greater chance of finding multiple winners
amongst your tickets. Finally, one reason for purchasing the "DAILY
NUMBER BUSTER!" is because we "BOX" these numbers for you.
It can be a ROYAL PAIN to do this matching yourself! You simply
choose the number selection method which you like best, and the
BUSTER will create ANY boxing system you want. Pick a boxing
system you or your pool members can best afford, and the BUSTER
will do everything for you. This certainly simplifies the betting
process! In fact, many daily number sales agents will take the printed
boxed number games and punch in your bets for you! When you
choose to box numbers the system will ask you how many numbers
you wish to box (up to the number you choose from) and how many
positions to box them into (up to the game size). After entering these
values correctly the system will generate all of the required tickets to
box your selected numbers. You can review the ticket combinations
on your screen or send them to your printer.
My Ticket Combinations Are On The Screen... What Next?
When the screen is filled with your the ticket combinations for the
box bet that you are going to play, you can then do a number of
things. By pressing the <P> you will get a printed record of the bet.
If you type <S> you will save your bet so you can check it later.
When you choose to save your bet the BUSTER will prompt you to
assign it a file name. Just about anything will do, however, make
sure it is something you will recognize when it is time to check them.
NOTE: ALL Saved Bet Files have the extension ".CYB"

Check Your Bets
To check your previously stored bets against the last winning date
and accompanying winning numbers recorded in your daily number
database or against any combination of numbers, select Check Your
Bets from the Bets Sub-Menu. The Bets screen will appear showing
all of the Saved Bet Files in the current directory. To change the
directory that the Buster is looking in, hit the <Tab> key and enter a
different path name.
Once you have selected a Saved Bet File by hitting <Enter> you
have the option of checking your bets or deleting the file you selected.
To move back and forth between the options hit the <Tab> key, and
select which one you want by hitting <Enter>. If you choose Delete
the system will eliminate the selected file and return you to the screen
to select another. Remember that you can hit <Esc> at any time to
return to the Main Menu.
If you chose Check Your Bets on the Main Menu, the next screen
you see will provide the option of comparing your bets to the last
entry recorded (Use Last Drawing) in your past drawings database or
to numbers which you wish to use for comparison (Enter Numbers).
Depending upon the saved bet being checked, the BUSTER will
display all number combinations that hit by highlighting those
combinations.
NOTE TO USERS OF MULTIPLE DATABASES: When you are
following two or more Daily Number databases, you should be in the
same database that the bets were created in. If not, and you have
recently added winning numbers to your past drawings database, the
bets may be checked against an earlier drawn number rather than
against the most current entry. If you choose to enter your own
numbers to check against your saved bets, no problem, the
BUSTER will work just fine. Did you WIN? Make sure to let us
know if you did!
SYSTEM SETUP (Setup Sub-Menu)
In addition, to Database Selection (which was described earlier in the
users manual), the Setup Sub-Menu has two important functions. Sound
ON/OFF: By highlighting ang pressing <ENTER> on this item you
can toggle the sound effects on and off. Color ON/OFF: The
BUSTER attempts to recognize whether you have a color monitor or
not, and then will adjust accordingly. In a few cases, however, the
color scheme is still not appropriate for a monochrome or gray- scale
monitor. Choosing Color OFF will change the color scheme to
further enhance screen readability.
DAILY DEAL GAMES
A few states have started daily games based on a deck of cards
instead of the traditional Pick-3 or Pick-4 games where you select
from the numbers 0 - 9 in each position. The "Card" games (Daily
Deal games) require that you select from the cards 2 through Ace, in
each of the four suits, Hearts, Clubs, Diamonds, and Spades. An
example of this is the California Decco game or the Ohio "Cards"
game. Version 2.0 of the Daily Number Buster is specially designed
to handle games such as these. However, for those of you who are
using it for this purpose there are a few things that you need to
know. The order of suits is fixed. The system saves the suits as
follows: Hearts, Clubs, Diamonds, and Spades. The values for these
are as follows: 2 - 9, 10 is represented as T, J is a Jack, Q is a Queen,
K is a King, and A is an Ace. You must enter the card values using
this format. Finally, it is important that you identify the Daily Game
properly when you first describe this game type to the system.
Therefore, when creating a new database, you MUST enter the value

TROUBLESHOOTING
We hope that you dont have anything but fun using the BUSTER but
if you do encounter any problem, here are a few tips for common
problems:
I cant do anything but go back and forth between the Setup and Exit
menus - You need to select a database before you can use any of the
other menus
I cant get to the Analyze or Bets menus -
You must have at least 10 entries in your database before these
choices are available.
The BUSTER cannot find my database -
To recognize a database the name must have the extension ".EOB"
For example, NY4.EOB or DAILY.EOB. Additionally, the
BUSTER must be looking in the right place shown in the Path
Name field. If this is not the correct path location, correct the path
and try again.
